About us

Our story

Maspeak started with a phone call between Uruguay and Australia. We were two lifelong friends trying to understand how a hotel could still have rooms available and lose the booking simply because no one could reach the phone.

One of us knew that moment from the inside. He had spent years at the front desk and later worked as a front office manager at luxury hotels in Australia. His stories sounded extreme until we spoke with more hotels and heard the same thing again and again.

I heard front desk teams say 'we're fully booked' when rooms were still available, just so they could get back to the guest waiting at the counter. The phone always rings at the worst moment and, when you have to choose, the call loses.

The front desk was doing everything it could. Guests were waiting, tasks were piling up and the shift never slowed down. Phone sales had to wait, often at the exact moment a caller was ready to book.

For the hotel, that moment could cost hundreds of dollars. For the guest, a few unanswered rings were enough to start looking elsewhere. Almost no one knew how often it was happening.

Some hotels tried to solve it by adding more people. One had two full-time employees answering the phone night after night, fielding the same questions. That was when we understood how much effort hotels were spending on a problem everyone had learned to accept.

That is where Maspeak came from: living the problem up close and believing that answering one call at the right time could change both the guest's experience and the hotel's results.

We want every call answered, around the clock, so hotels can turn it into a booking while still caring for the guest standing at the front desk.
