This didn't start with a pitch deck. It started with a phone call between two lifelong friends, one in Uruguay, one in Australia.
Avi, my co-founder, had spent years working as a receptionist and front office manager in some of Australia's most prestigious hotels. When we spoke, he told me stories that were hard to believe, except they weren't.
"Receptionists are lying about availability just to avoid booking a room. Quoting overpriced rates to end the call faster. Telling guests to 'call back tomorrow' when they knew they never would."
Not out of bad faith. Just because they were overwhelmed, under-incentivized, and trained to manage, not sell.
We realized something important: Every missed or mishandled call is real money lost—often $400+ per night—and nobody is tracking it.
One hotel Avi worked at even had two full-time employees doing nothing but answering phone calls, night after night, repeating the same questions over and over.
That was the spark. Maspeak was born to fix what we saw from the inside. Not as consultants. As insiders who lived it.
Our goal is to turn missed calls into booked rooms. 24/7. No excuses. No voicemails. Just sales.
